Estate Manager, Golf Course Job in Kenya


Estate Manager, Golf Course
 
Key Responsibility
 
Plans, develops and implements maintenance programs to provide regularly scheduled maintenance for the golf course.
 
Prepares and recommends modifications and improvements for the courses including tees, fairway greens, roughs and surrounding areas
 
Provides analysis for turf and plant diseases
 
Identifies plant pests and provides input to appropriate staff regarding methods of control
 
Excellent knowledge of;
 
Materials, methods and equipment used in golf course maintenance
 
Pesticide application laws and regulations
 
Modern irrigation techniques
 
Qualifications and experience
  • BSc, Agricultural engineering, agriculture or Horticulture
  • 5 years experience in golf course management, two of which in senior course management
  • Knowledge of course farm machinery and equipment maintenance is essential
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent multiskills ability
  • Team player

Vet Labs Sports Club (Golf) - General Manager Job


The Vet Labs Sports Club (Golf) is seeking to fill the position of a General Manager  (GM), who is the overall administrator of the Club overseeing the performance of  all the five departments of the Club. 

The Club has just completed an 18-hole golf  course development and it seeks a dynamic GM capable of implementing the rest of  the Club’s strategic plan as instructed by the Main Committee.  

He/she will also be  responsible for supervision and evaluation to club members of staff, based upon a clear set of evaluation criteria and task order provided to the staff member. 

The successful  candidate will be a mature person capable of working independently with minimal  supervision and developing a rapport with a diverse club membership. 

He/she should  have a business administration or equivalent academic training with at least 5 years  experience in senior management position. 

An understanding of golf club management  is not required but an added advantage.

Requirements:
  • Qualification in Fleet management

Responsibilities:

Travel Consultant

Requirements

1. Doing bookings

2. Ensure each booking has a booking card

3. Ensure all bookings are confirmed and re-confirmed

4. Ensure all bookings have ticket numbers

5. Ensure ticketing rules are followed.

6. Ensure all tickets are authorized for by the client. Any ticket sent to accounts without an L.P.O or letter of authority by the clients will not be invoiced. If sent with fraudulent authorization then the you will be personally held accountable even if is after your departure from our employment.

7. Ensure going through the queue messages and advise clients on the status of bookings

8. Do quotations to clients ensure they are properly typed/pasted and call/chat all clients to ensure they have received their emailed quotations

9. Ensure the quotations are responded to immediately incase of delays then advice the client the intention to do so.

10. Send any cash paying clients to accounts office for receipting.

11. Cancel all cancelled tickets on the computer system, punch them and forward them to accounts with the attached cancellation slip.

12. Ensure that we are updated on all current fares from the airlines.

13. Ensure you seek authority for all discounts to clients especially walk ins who are not within our approved levels of discount in our systems

14. Ensure all un-needed bookings are cancelled in the system to avoid no show fees. 

15. Do a daily sales report and forward to the relevant accountant on a daily basis.

Must have account they can walk in with and in addition to accounts to be allocated to be able to generate minimum 10,000,000 sales a month within 6 months.

Minimum experience 4 years in a busy office, have relevant education to the position and a computer literate

Qualifications
  • Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Degree in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage

Supply Chain Officer

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for overall procurement of goods and services

Qualifications

Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Jobs in Kenya - Internal Auditor and Security & Transport Officer

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2006. The Commission is the sector regulatory agency responsible for economic and technical regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy and Downstream Petroleum sub sectors.

This includes tariff setting and review, licensing, enforcement, dispute settlement and approval of power purchase and network service contracts.

The Commission seeks to fill the following vacant positions:

1. Internal Auditor

The position holder will provide value added services in advising on risk areas, monitoring compliance and continuously improving internal control systems.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a sound audit manual detailing audit norms, procedures and standards
  • Plan and implement operational, information system and other investigative audits
  • Ensure compliance with the law and regulations with respect to Commission operations
  • Appraise the effectiveness and efficiency of financial and administrative controls and advise Management and the Commission
  • Ensure implementation of approved audit recommendations
  • Develop risk and compliance management strategies and work plans
  • Undertake risk assessment and make necessary recommendations
  • Train and create awareness throughout the organization on risk identification and management
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration or their equivalent from a recognized university
  • Certified Public Accountant - CPA (K)
  • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
  • At least five (5) years relevant experience, two (2) of which must be in auditing
  • Be well versed with internationally accepted auditing standards and computerised accounting and;
  • Be analytical and have ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Have good decision making, report writing and communication skills
2. Security and Transport Officer

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources and Administration the holder of this position will supervise and coordinate security and transport matters of the Commission.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supervise the security and transport personnel
  • Make reports on motor vehicle utilization and security matters
  • Develop and maintain security and transport records
  • Ensure proper maintenance of motor vehicles and, installation and maintenance of all security systems
  • Investigate cases that may adversely affect operations of the Commision and security related incidents
  • Train staff on security and safety
  • Maintain effective liaison with enforcement agencies
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • Minimum of five years experience in security operations
  • Experience from the police or the armed forces at a minimum level of Inspector or Captain
  • Training in criminology will be an added advantage.
  • Good interrogation and investigation skills
  • Computer literate
  • Good report writing and Communication skills
