Land O’Lakes seeks a seasoned internal audit manager with a minimum of 10 years of prior audit experience to support its international development division. 

The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will include up to 40% international travel.

Qualifications & Experience

• University level academic qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification in internal auditing, Accounting or Financial Management (CIA, CPA, or ACCA)
• Information Systems Auditing qualifications (CISA, CISM or equivalent are highly desirable)
• Experience in auditing is a pre-requisite with at least 5 years total experience in planning, conducting and reporting on audits and investigations.
• Prior audit experience with a U.S. government funded projects.

Other roles and responsibilities applicable to all three positions will include:

• Developing and implementing sound internal controls, accounting procedures, ensuring compliance to IFRS, financial policies and statutory regulations;
• Formulating costing and revenue policies and systems to ensure accounting of all costs incurred and revenue collected;
• Continuously developing and improving credit policies and procedures and spearheading the implementation of the same;
• Managing the preparation of monthly financial statements and tax returns for the organisation as per set requirements, procedures and standards;
• Consolidating financial accounts;

Skills and Attributes

As our Finance intern you will be part of the Finance department and work closely with team. 

The intern will be based at the TIS DAI support office in Nairobi.
 

Qualifications and skills sought:

• Student pursing first degree in Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent.

Cost Accountant Needed Urgently

My client is in search of a very strong, energetic, self starter Cost Accountant to assume the responsibility of their cost accounting function.

The following are the attributes the candidates should have;

Major Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by Job by customer
• Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward
• Coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development such as production, purchasing, import/export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, import/export IT, receiving, shipping, and other.
• Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
• Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by job, customer type by division
• Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability
• Work in Special projects as required
• Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others
• Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management

Minimum Qualifications Are:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA (K)/ACCA required
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically
• Acquired through 5 or more years of related experience
• Ability to apply knowledge of IFRS & Cost Accounting Standards
• Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
• Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
• Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
