Deputy Secretary Job Vacancy - Members Club, Nairobi

Reporting to: The Secretary (in his absence – the Committee)

Qualifications: Hospitality – Utalii or similar.

Experience
  • Senior Position - Hotel Management (minimum of 5 years)
  • Overseas experience an advantage
  • Operations experience mandatory - including:
  1. Food and Beverage
  2. Banqueting
  3. Accommodation

  • Flexible attitude with regard to meeting Members’ needs.
  • Literate, numerate and demonstrating effective IT skills.
  • Understand budgets and maximise resources.
  • Capable trainer and effective disciplinarian.
Role Profile

Operations
  • Manage Members and Membership issues.
  • Direct responsibility for food, beverages, banqueting and accommodation.
  • Manage staff appraisals, training and development.
  • Maintenance and development of operating procedures.
  • Maximise usage, margins and revenues.
  • Health and safety management to meet the highest standards.
  • Part of the Management Team for budgets, financial controls and forecasting.
  • Hands on management throughout the Club.
  • Available to deputise for the Secretary in all aspects of the Club.
Administration – support the Secretary and Senior Management in the following areas:
  • Food processing.
  • Financial Planning and Management.
  • Human Resources.
  • Project Management.
  • Maintenance of the fabric of the Club and grounds.
  • Manning, Training and Development in the sports sections:
  • Administration of Club committees.
  • Management of
  1. Fitness Centre
  2. Pool
  3. Tennis Courts
  4. Bowling Green
  5. Squash Courts
  6. Billiards Room
  7. Croquet Lawns
Candidates must possess excellent staff management and mentoring skills and possess a hospitality qualification. Excellent track record and references essential.
