Procurement Manager

Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager, the Manager will be responsible for managing Procurement centers and supply quality products to the Equatorial African Region through direct procurement.
 
Responsibilities
  1. Define, propose and monitor the implementation of plans and objectives in line with departmental strategy for both procurement and commodities advisory.
  2. Coach and manage buyers in direct procurement buying stations as well as assistants.
  3. Propose and control the operational budget of the assigned area.
  4. Propose and monitor appropriate indicators to control and measure team/area's performance.
  5. Demonstrate and promote the company's values and integrate them within the team/area's way of working.
  6. Take ownership of process and procedures within the sourcing area ensuring processes and procedures are available and communicated to the team and other relevant parties.
  7. Monitor compliance to defined process and procedures and update existing documents.
  8. Set up and monitor KPI reports on the various functions performed by the Commodities sourcing Team. Negotiate terms and conditions for the categories (e.g prices, terms & conditions, delivery terms) within the scope of objectives set by Regional Purchasing
  9. Communicate reports to relevant parties and continuously seek improvements for existing reports and proactive gather new reporting requirements
  10. Ensure all requirements, reception and payments for products bought from exporters are loaded onto the system.
  11. Responsible for  the selection and training of personnel in the centres
  12. Maintain good relationship with suppliers (fee back on price, quality, fair treatment in centres, timing of analysis etc). Follow up the payments of suppliers
  13. Understand the business requirements of each operating market and inform the SBUs about different issues concerning quality of products.
  14. Work within the guidelines of EAR Purchasing Guidelines, Principles, Management and the Corporate Business Principles.
  15. Ensure clear communication with all concerned internally & externally i.e. Factory, EAR Technical, EAR transport, Marketing, Suppliers and others.
  16. Provide activity reports and participate to monthly commodities meeting

  • Strong knowledge of competitors’ environment including products and suppliers.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of procurement tools.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills (ability to analyse data and make logical, pragmatic and sensitive decisions).
