Systems Administrator Vacancy

We are a manufacturing company whose core business is to market a wide range of selected quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with a countrywide and regional distribution network.
We offer a full portfolio of beverages as well as partner with leading distillery Companies of international repute to import and distribute premium Wines and Spirits in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, parts of Democratic Republic of Congo and Southern Sudan.
As a result of ongoing expansion in line with our vision to be the preferred manufacturer and distributor of Wines and Spirits in Eastern and Central Africa and beyond, the position of Systems Administrator is currently available. We invite applications from suitably qualified Kenyan citizens.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the holder of this position will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the ICT strategy
  • Administration of the servers, network management and monitoring for the Company’s branch network (WAN/LAN/BROADBAND),
  • Administration and management of the Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and the PABX systems and Software.
  • Installation and deployment of system and application (Enterprise Resource Planning) software for the company
  • Providing first level security for the network and telecommunication infrastructure in the company
  • Implementing a sound Business Continuity /Disaster Recovery strategies for the company
  • Maintenance of ICT infrastructure (include the web services) with the relevant service provider
  • Providing maintenance to the Companies ICT inventory
  • Providing in house training for ad-hoc request from user departments on the deployed applications (intranet & extranet, collaboration software as well as specialized systems-GPRS)
  • Overseeing the company’s help desk services
  • Any other duties that may be assigned /delegated by the ICT manager
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Degree in Computer science/Information systems with a bias in Applications.
  • Professional certification in MCSE/MCDBA/CCNA
  • At least 5 years experience in management of a busy ICT environment with branch network integration
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN/VOIP integration as well as trouble shooting experience on the same.
  • Hands on experience as well as In-depth knowledge of installation and configuration of windows server 2008r2, MS SQL 2008 and Windows Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG)
  • Experience of deployment of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems will be an added advantage
  • Leadership skills and team player attributes will be desirable
