VACANCY ANOUNCEMENT - COMMERCIAL BUYER
Airtel Kenya wishes to recruit the position of Commercial Buyer in the Supply Chain Management Division.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the incumbent shall be responsible for:
- Supports the Procurement manager in developing the category plans for spend areas allocated to them
- Conduct situational analysis including industry dynamics, supplier research, source country dynamics etc and Investigates and secures new/alternative sources of supply, technology, and services to increase margins through the lowering of costs by the introduction of new products or alternative procurement sources which are beneficial to the company
- Negotiates and reviews purchasing agreements/contracts with suppliers in order to attain assurance of Supply, Quality, Service, competitive Cost and Innovation while ensuring they are reviewed and approved as per Financial Delegation of Authority (FDOA)
- Reviews supplier contracts/agreements in order to make sure existing terms and conditions are still favourable and where appropriate renegotiates the contracts
- Works with current and future suppliers to develop effective business relations
Qualifications:
· University degree in a Business related field
· Full or part Graduate Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (UK) is an added advantage
· 3+ years experience in strategic Procurement/commercial or related field in a busy multinational environment
· Able to handle, prioritize, multiple projects simultaneously
· High level of Accountability and Integrity
· Excellent knowledge of Oracle (or any other ERP system) and MS Excel
· Able to operate in a fast moving high performance driven organisation
