A leading rose flower producer wishes to recruit a high caliber candidate for the position of a Unit Manager, reporting to top management and working as part of management team.
The position entails the following:
- Carrying out all production processes/crop husbandry practices.
- Implementation of the Company Integrated Crop Management Systems (ICM).
- Proper keeping of production and ICM records for the unit
- Liaising with the Post Harvest Department on Quality Issues
- Carrying out of production forecast as and when required.
- Drawing up weekly production reports
- Drawing up weekly farm operations plan in liaison with the General Manager.
- Responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the spray and fertigation systems in the unit.
- Ensuring that all personnel in the unit are trained on ICM programme and crop husbandry practices.
The ideal candidate should posses the following credentials:
- Bachelors Degree in Horticulture
- At least 3 years experience in production of roses
- Excellent Knowledge of ICM Systems
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge on harvest IT will be an added advantage
- Excellent managerial, supervisory and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
