Purpose of the position
To provide financial and administrative support for the Juba office as well as play a key role in establishment of appropriate accounting system incorporating necessary internal control systems.Key Responsibilities:
- Be a Key Player in the issues of Financial Accounting to ensure full compliance with our internal and donor requirements
- Ensure that World Vision policies and procedures are adhered to as per the Field Finance Manual (FFM) and Guidelines
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of Cash Book and Sun system Ledger.
- Prepare the monthly non-cash payment journals for National and International payrolls, and Settlement Advices within agreed timelines.
- Ensure that all payments made from Juba office are well documented and have all relevant backups and approvals and that they are accurately done.
- Respond to Internal Audit querries regarding Juba office financial management aspects and documentation.
- Maintain and update a fixed asset register for all Juba fixed assets and produce for use by the management quarterly fixed assets reports.
- Review and advise the management on banking facilities available which suit the Juba office as well as Field operations in general.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure that utility and other bills are settled promptly.
- Ensure that all the regional accountants submit to Juba office, their monthly journals for review and approval, and ensure that these are finally filed in an orderly manner.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree or a Higher Diploma in Business Administration.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience, with an international NGO.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, a practical knowledge of financial systems and internal financial controls.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems, preferably SUN systems, Ms- Word, and Ms-Excel.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
