The Kenya Transport Association (KTA) is an association of road transporters in Kenya.
KTA seeks to instill safety, discipline and professionalism in trucking and to provide a single, authoritative voice on issues of importance to road transport.
To strengthen its secretariat and offer efficient services to its members, KTA seeks to recruit a Chief Executive Officer.
Under the direction of the Board, the CEO will:

Under the direction of the Board, the CEO will:
- Support administration of Board by advising and informing Board members and interfacing between Board and staff;
- Oversee, design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services all activities of the association;
- Provide leadership in the creation of strategic, tactical, and financial plans; develop goals and measure performance to the approved goals; be the liaison officer to the public, government, affiliated organizations, and other stakeholders; lobby and advocate for KTA ;
- Supervise and develop the association’s staff;
- Design and implement an effective communication strategy for KTA with consistent, focused, targeted messaging developed in consultation with the board;
- Oversee fundraising, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, submitting proposals and administering fundraising records and document.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures.
- Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Knowledge of public relations principles and practices.
- Knowledge of communication and public relation techniques.
- Possession of advocacy skills a prerequisite.
- Ability to identify and secure funding/revenue sources.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel.
- Proven experience managing a member based association is a plus.
Work Experience
- 5 years progressive experience in a similar position. Transport sector experience will be an added advantage.
- A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
Education
- A holder of a degree in Business Administration, Transport Management, Finance or Accounting.
- Masters degree in any business related study would be a definite advantage.
