Operations Manager Job in the Kenyan Tourism Industry

Our client in the Tourism industry is looking to recruit an Operations Manager

Occupational Description:

• Organise, direct, and control the operations of all tours and transport.
• Evaluate their department’s responsibility for the movement of all vehicles

Main Duties:

• Report to the Managing Director
• Establish work priorities, delegate work to drivers and ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followed
• Supervising operations of all company vehicles through reports obtained from quality control department
• Make quotes and deliver correct information to clients
• Direct and advise staff in their responsibilities
• Coordinate field operations.
• Very aggressive in looking for new business
• Set operations policies and standards, including determination of safety procedures to all drivers
• Oversee dispatch of vehicles
• Plan, administer and control this department’s budgets for fuel equipment and supplies needed by each vehicle
• Monitor department’s performance; prepare, weekly, monthly reports to managing Director.
• Plan for changes to schedules and policies
• Oversee all drivers and their training

Employment Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration/ Tourism or college diploma is usually required
• Several years of experience in tours transport operations are required, including supervisory experience
• Extensive experience as a supervisor and operator in particular transport mode, may substitute for formal education
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Knowledge of Tours and Safaris as well as Kenyan Geography will be an added advantage
• Computer literate
