PROGRAM MANAGER

TechnoServe, Inc. (www.technoserve.org) is an international nonprofit development organization founded in 1968. Its mission is to help entrepreneurial men and women in poor rural areas of the developing world to build businesses that create jobs, income and economic opportunity for their families, their communities and their countries.

In Tanzanian TechnoServe works with small and medium enterprises and farmer organizations to enhance their profitability. This is done through linkages to markets as well as strategy formulation and implementation. Current TechnoServe Tanzania is working on the following agricultural value chains: coffee, tea, cotton, cocoa, tomato, avocado, Soya, maize and rice.

The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) has signed a three-year grant agreement with TechnoServe to implement a program that aims at increasing income of smallholder maize and rice farmers in Mbeya region through improved access to warehouse receipt systems. The program wi'u reach 20,000 farmers in 20 sites. It is against this backdrop that TechnoServe is recruiting professional individuals with proven track record in the implementation of projects that focus on post harvest handling and marketing grains and other staple crops. .

Qualifications:

- A Master's degree in Agricultural sciences from a reputable university

- At least five years of experience- working in agribusiness industry/sector

- Three years of experience working on post harvest handling

- At least three years of experience in working with producer associations

- Ability to conduct financial analysis and facilitate business planning for business entities.

- Willingness to be based in Mbeya

- Ability to engage with stakeholders at both local and central government levels

- Ability to manage project execution teams

- A valid driver's licence
