VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position:  Plumber/ Water & Sanitation Instructor (1 post)

Duty Station: Yei Vocational Training College (YVTC) – ECS Yei.

The ECS Diocese of Yei established the Yei Vocational Training College (YVTC) in September 2003, in Partnership with Church Missionary Society CMS (Ireland UK)

The College’s Mission is to provide Students throughout the region of greater Yei with Vocational training in a Christian context enabling them to gain skills and secure income and employment with which to support themselves and their families thus contributing to the prosperity of Southern Sudan.

With the above background, YVTC therefore, is seeking to recruit an instructor in the department of plumbing/water and Sanitation Urgently.

Qualifications: The Candidate should have the below mentioned qualifications:-

1. The person must be a Christian who professes the Christian values and morals the YVTC stands for (including not being given to alcoholic drinking or smoking of cigarettes).
2. Should have minimum a diploma in plumbing WatSan and capacity building courses added advantage
3. Should have working experience of not less than two years in the above field preferably in teaching and should be better off in the following areas.

• Central Heating - This can include installation of gas, electrical or solid fuel boilers, radiators the entire pipe work and or under floor heating.
• Sinks and washbasins- Advice on selecting the right type of sink and installation of
• Toilets - installation of the basin and associated pipe work
• Bathrooms - Installation of baths, showers, taps, washbasin making sure everything is watertight and correctly sealed.
• Drainage - Connection of the household water system to the main water supply and also removing effluent into the main sewage system or septic tank.
• Borehole fixing, repairs and maintenance
• Repairs - Repairs and maintenance to any or all of the above.

4.   Should be able to work under pressure.
5.   Should have a good command of English language both spoken and written.
6. Should be a Sudanese by Nationality (Preferably)
