Major
duties and responsibilities
Under the
supervision of the UNSOA Mombasa Support Base (MSB) Material and Asset
Assistant and within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for
the following duties:
Manage the CITS
Warehouse, in terms of planning the storage of CITS assets in coordination with
Asset Management; Prepare assets for issue and ensure equipment and assets are
in prime condition; test equipment for functionality prior to storing or issue;
assist in preparation for ghosting of computer equipment; receive assets and
equipment; receive assets and equipment after R&I and coordinates storage
with asset management taking in to consideration special requirement for
storage such as security, environmental or other controls; ensure safe and
secure operations within the CITS storage facility; Monitor functionality of
Access Control and safety and security devices in support of the secure storage
of valuables; continually provide assistance with management of CITS assets and
assets management in UNSOA Support Base by using UNSOA electronic assets
management software database under the supervision of Asset Management; Prepare
issues of CITS equipment and enter the records in the asset control system;
Assist with determination on status and classification of assets and updates
the records in the appropriate system; receive, inspect and verify all incoming
assets and supplies in support of accountable and transparent asset management;
provide report to supervisor on availability of consumables to support all
operational equipment; Assist supervisor with preparation of timely write-off
of assets as per established procedures; Deliver assets to Property Disposal
Unit in coordination with CITS asset management; Assist with the preparation of
equipment packing lists and electronic Cargo Movement Requests (e-CMR);
Performs ad hoc duties as assigned by Asset Management and Senior Staff.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Work Experience: At least 4 years of progressively responsible
experience in the field of Warehouse operations and asset handling. Prior knowledge of UN internal systems and
applications is a distinctive advantage.
Education: Completion
of High School education plus adequate computer skills covering basic
applications.
Languages; Fluency
in spoken and written English. Knowledge
of any other UN Language is an asset.
Other Desirable
skills: Familiarity with UN Rules and Regulations on Property Management in
terms of asset handling.
