Child Protection Project Manager Job in Modogashe, Lagdera District, Kenya - Terre des hommes Foundation


Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is an international NGO focussed on Child Rights.

To support the development of its Child Protection programme in Lagdera District, Tdh is encouraging applications from Kenyan nationals for the role of:

Child Protection Project Manager 

1 Position

Reporting to: Child Protection Programme Manager

Duty station: Modogashe, Lagdera District.

Contract duration: 12 months (with 3-month probation period)

Main responsibilities:
  • To be responsible, under the supervision of the Child Protection Programme Manager, for all aspects of the implementation of the Child Protection project in rural divisions of Lagdera district.
  • To manage, mentor and train a team of CP staff and community workers.
  • To coordinate with the Psychosocial Counselor to ensure regular assessment of project needs and adequate follow up of extremely vulnerable cases.
  • To develop close collaboration with the local authorities such as the District Children Officer, other partners and services in order to establish a proper child protection referral system.
Requirements:
  • Minimum diploma-level education in related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in projects supporting children (social work, child protection, psychosocial, education, etc.)
  • Team management experience (30-40 subordinates).
  • Project reporting and evaluation experience.
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili. Ability to communicate in Somali is a plus.
  • Willingness to live at village level in main project sites.
