Administrative Clerk - Cape Town and Durban

The U.S. Consulate General in Cape Town seeks an Administrative Clerk (Community Grants) in the Executive Section (Exec).  Applicants must have ALL the following requirements:
  1. Education: Successful completion of Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
  2. Experience: Two years work experience in administration or clerical positions is required.        
  3. Language: English level IV in reading, writing and speaking is required. Level III in isiZulu writing/reading/speaking are required.
  4. Knowledge: Knowledge of Non Government Organization (NGO) work community development and their challenges in South Africa is required.
  5. Skills and Abilities: 
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word and Excel is required.  (This will be tested).
  • Ability to work for multiple people, juggling schedules and prioritizing is required.
  • Ability to provide unofficial translation for Coordinators during workshop presentations and meetings, and handling applicant inquiries and questions is required.
  • Ability to make presentations to groups is required.
  • Good judgment in assessing and recommending projects is required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a network of working level outside contacts; excellent drafting, organizational and time management skills is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
