The National Council for Law Reporting is a corporate body established by the National Council for Law Reporting Act, 1994. The statutory mandate of the Council is the publication of the official Kenya Law Reports which are compilations of the decisions of the superior courts of Kenya, and the revision and updating the Laws of Kenya.
The Council is a leading publisher of public legal information.
The Council is looking for highly organized and self-motivated professionals to serve in the following position:

Job Title: Assistant Sales Officer
Job Title: Assistant Sales Officer
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Customer Service, the Assistant Sales Officer will be responsible for marketing and selling the Council’s products and services and sourcing for new customers.
Key responsibilities:
The Sales Executive will be responsible to the Head of Sales and Customer Service for‐
- Developing and maintaining a customer database.
- Organising and driving sales events and campaigns
- Planning and conducting of direct marketing activities
- Maintaining of sales activity records and reports
- Preparation of sales action plans and schedules
- Making sales calls to new and existing clients
- Developing and delivering presentations of the Council’s products to current and potential clients
- Developing sales proposals
- Maintaining of sales activity records and reports
- Responding to sales inquiries and concerns on phone, electronically or in person
- Ensuring customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
- Conducting market research and surveys
- Any other such duties as may be required
The ideal candidate must possess
- A diploma in business studies or its equivalent
- ‘O’ level qualification with an average mean grade of C+ and grade B in both English and Kiswahili
- A minimum of 2 years hands‐on working experience in a similar position.
- Good negotiation skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
- Working experience in operating office computer applications.
Required personal attributes
- Personable and presentable with impeccable grooming and etiquette
- Team player with proactive attitude with ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Capable of working under pressure in meeting sales targets.
- Positive and enthusiastic personality
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Previous experience in or demonstrated understanding of the market for public legal information would be an added advantage
