The National Council for Law Reporting is a corporate body established by the National Council for Law Reporting Act, 1994. The statutory mandate of the Council is the publication of the official Kenya Law Reports which are compilations of the decisions of the superior courts of Kenya, and the revision and updating the Laws of Kenya.
The Council is a leading publisher of public legal information.

Job Title: Copy Reader
Job Title: Copy Reader
Reporting to the Head of Laws of Kenya Department, the Copy Reader will be responsible for copy reading and carrying out legal research on laws, treaties and any other information that may be assigned.
Key responsibilities:
The Copy Reader will be responsible to the Head of Laws of Kenya department for‐
- Copy reading of legal materials as may be assigned.
- Carrying out legal research on various issues relating to legislation, amendments affecting the legislation and compilation of the same.
- Cross checking and verifying references.
The ideal candidate must possess
- At least a Diploma in Law from a recognized institution
- A good understanding of the local legislative framework and legal processes of Kenya
- Strong computer skills
- Working experience in operating Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite
- Well organised and methodical individual with an eye for detail
- Previous experience in legal research or copy reading in a busy legal publishing environment will be an added advantage
Required personal attributes
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- An aptitude for the English Language.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding and busy environment.
- Team player with proactive attitude.
