INTERSOS is now opening a new field base in Pibor, for a project of school rehabilitation and community services.
INTERSOS is now seeking a logistic officer/base manager to be based in Pibor, Jonglei State.
This is a high qualified position.
Position Title: Logistic Officer/Base manager
Reporting to: Project Manager/SS Coordinator
Responsible for: Logistics and supervision of activities in Pibor
Duty station: Pibor, Jonglei State, Southern Sudan
Job Description:
- In Logistics:
- Assist the Project Manager in all logistic aspects of INTERSOS activities in the area of implementation
- Prepare travel arrangements to project sites and any other location
- Check the proper functioning of warehouse procedures (in/out registration), check of stocks on a regular basis and report to the immediate supervisor
- Arrange and update all logistic files and documents in proper archives
- Prepare, get approval, make orders and proceed to local purchase according to established procedures
- Organize and supervise all logistic aspects and documentation for good/supplies transport: way-bills, packing lists, final delivery/distribution records
- Follow up and update regularly the inventory of materials and equipment
- In Base management:
- Manage the field base in Pibor, ensuring full efficiency of assets under his responsibility
- Assist the Project Manager in monitoring the project activities and community services activities
- Assist the Construction Expert in monitoring the rehabilitation activities
- Assist the Project Manager and SS Coordinator in identifying humanitarian gaps in the area of implementation
- Manage possible NFI distributions, food distributions and other humanitarian activities that might emerge from needs
Qualification and skills required:
- At least 3 years experience in related field of work
- University Degree
- Fluency in spoken English; Murle language is an asset
- Computer literacy
- Experience in borehole drilling supervision will be considered
