Retail Sales Representative – Job Description
Reporting to the Retail Manager – Your role as the Retail Sales Representative will be to sell as many of the company's products as possible. As such, you have a very important part to play in the company's success and specific monthly targets to meet and exceed.
Specific Duties -
- Generating revenue for the company by closing sales at specific monthly targets
- Creating, maintaining and developing relationships with new and existing customers via , telephone calls, emails
- Meeting and exceeding customer’s experience at the retail store through professional, speedy and accurate service
- Making accurate, rapid cost calculations, and providing customers with quotations and follow up as required
- Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
- Gathering market and customer information and providing feedback on future buying trends.
- Negotiating variations in price, delivery and specifications as instructed
- Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions with customers
- Checking quantities of goods on display and in stock & reporting on the same
- You may also be involved with identifying new markets and business opportunities.
- Accurately recording sales and order information and sending copies to the head office
- Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
Skills and Interests
- IT product knowledge
- Sales experience in IT products
- The ability and desire to sell.
- Preferably prior sales experience in a retail store
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness
- A confident and determined approach.
- Resilience, and the ability to cope with rejection.
- A high degree of self-motivation and drive.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- The capacity to flourish in a competitive environment.
- Fluency in English and Swahili
