The Delegation of the European Union is looking for a dynamic and motivated CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT (Group I) with a strong interest in finances to start in March 2011. he accountant will work in the Finance and Contracts Section at the Delegation in Tanzania and will be directly accountable to the Head of Section.
Job Content:
• To assist in the financial management of projects and programs for Tanzania.
• To prepare payment dossiers
• Audit follow-up
Functions and duties:
To ensure proper preparation and execution of payment orders under devolution circuit. To verify invoices and payment requests.
To initialize and update into CRIS payments and beneficiary's bank details.
To assist with the encoding commitments through the Accounting System CRIS. To ensure accuracy of expenditure estimates and to fill in check lists for payments To co-operate with NAO's office in accounting questions.
To ensure accuracy and compliance of audit reports
Establish and follow up the annual plan of audits
To ensure the implementation of the conclusions of audits To verify the balances and the unjustified advances
Education and training:
• University degree or
• Certified Accountant degree
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience on Accounting and processing of payment orders.
Specialist knowledge:
• Knowledge of and/or previous practical experience in audit is required. lingUistic skills:
• The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills, with a profound knowledge of English
• Knowledge of French will be an added advantage
Computer skills:
Fully computer literate.
Communication skills:
• Good oral and written communication,
• Ability to clear presentation of accounting reports.
Interpersonal skills:
Congenial in imparting information and ability to build productive and co-operative working relationships with other colleagues.
Excellent ability to listen, consult and to share information and ideas. Capacity to operate easily in multicultural environment.
Flexibility to work under pressure and to respond quickly to new demands
