Supply Chain Manager Vacancy

Title: Supply Chain Manager

Reporting: Finance Director

Qualification:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Certification in Procurement (i.e. CIPS or a Masters degree in Procurement and supply chain)
  • Five years procurement experience at management level and experience in a manufacturing entity will be of added advantage.
  • Must have excellent leadership and supervisory skill
  • High proficiency in use of Microsoft office suite
Responsibilities:
  • Managing the Procurement, Stores and Logistics functions in a more cost effective and efficient manner
  • Directs the process which includes the planning of procurement, inventory control, logistics and distribution
  • Development of supplier base for various raw materials and effective vendor performance management of key suppliers
  • Selecting vendors, local and international, in line with organisation’s procedures
  • Manage short & long term demand plans with supplier capabilities/capacity while increasing material availability & reducing distribution costs
  • Ensures inventory accuracy through improved stock management systems
  • Contributes to the overall organization’s growth through strategic planning & capitalization on opportunities to reduce costs by improving the supply and logistics process flow
  • Establishes plans, policies, systems, and procedures that will achieve strategic objectives
  • Create item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon to be used for ordering and inventory management purposes.
  • Verification and approval of purchasing & contracting documentation
  • Oversee the complete tendering process
  • Budgetary planning for new accounts related to material supply & logistics
  • Meets with vendors to negotiate improved pricing, product quality and delivery times.
  • Continually improving supply chain KPI; development of key metrics & reporting structure/reports enabling effective performance management
  • Ensuring shipments, imports and exports, comply with Tiscan and Customs regulation in Tanzania
  • Liaising closely with shipping /Freight Forwarding agents and selecting the most effective in each operating Area/route
