Intervita Onlus is an Italian, non-confessional, non-political, independent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) cooperating for development. It collaborates with local partners in thirteen countries of the World, in order to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations and to fight against poverty and inequality.
The projects of Intervita are multidimensional. They are focused onto education, health, food security, economic development, gender parity, child rights and environment. All of the activities have the fundamental component of the community participation, through which Intervita and its NGO partners aim to achieve a long term and sustainable development. Education and health are the priorities, therefore the projects are based on the Long Distance Sponsorship Programme (LDSP), which is implemented in primary schools for students of 4 to 8 years of age.
Intervita Tanzania, a branch of Intervita Onlus, is officially registered in the United Republic of Tanzania as international NGO. In order to cover and develop effectively its activities, it is seeking a young, serious, self motivated, honest, hardworking and committed
LDSP SCHOOL OFFICER
S/he will be responsible for:
- LDSP operations in the schools, such as information about students, photo collection, activities with children and teachers
- Constant relationship with school staff, in order to monitor and update the information
- Processing of LDSP data
- Preparation of material and information to be sent to the Italian headquarter
- Perform any other duty connected to the function, that might be assigned by the Country representative and/or the Project Officer
Candidates’ profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work / Social Administration / Community Development or equivalents
- Previous experience in community work (experience with children is an advantage)
- Strong organizational skills
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Brilliant computer skills (Windows and Microsoft Office)
- Passion for photography
- Flexibility to work in challenging environment
- Willingness to travel and to work on the field
Location:
- The office is based in Dar Es Salaam
- The job requires frequent travelling as well as working on the field
The School Officer will be trained about Intervita LSDP procedures and about the database for data processing.
Her/his job will be coordinated by the Project Officer, whereas s/he will hierarchically depend on the Country Representative.
