Intervita Onlus is an Italian, non-confessional, non-political, independent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) cooperating for development. It collaborates with local partners in thirteen countries of the World, in order to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations and to fight against poverty and inequality.
The projects of Intervita are multidimensional. They are focused onto education, health, food security, economic development, gender parity, child rights and environment. All of the activities have the fundamental component of the community participation, through which Intervita and its NGO partners aim to achieve a long term and sustainable development. Education and health are the priorities, therefore the projects are based on the Long Distance Sponsorship Programme (LDSP), which is implemented in primary schools for students of 4 to 8 years of age.
Intervita Tanzania, a branch of Intervita Onlus, is officially registered in the United Republic of Tanzania as international NGO. In order to cover and develop effectively its activities, it is seeking a young, serious, self motivated, honest, hardworking and committed
ACCOUNTANT & ADMINISTRATOR
S/he will support the Country representative in the following tasks:
- Draw up the monthly accountancy reports, to be sent to the Italian headquarter
- Monitor and adjust the accountancy reports of the Projects, prepared by the NGO partners of Intervita
- Prepare all necessary documentation for tax practices and legal procedures
- Maintain relationship with public offices and public authorities
- Keep in line both the procedures and the activities of Intervita with the current legislation of The United Republic of Tanzania, as well as with any legislative update
- Take care of the logistics and of the daily routine of the office
- Deal with suppliers and purchase office materials
- Maintain equipment inventories
- Perform any other duty connected to the function that might be assigned by the Country representative
Candidates’ profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or in Business Administration
- Minimum experience of two years in equivalent positions
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Brilliant computer skills (Windows and Microsoft Office)
- Solid knowledge about NSSF, PAYE, SDL
- Solid knowledge about labour law, labour contracts and payrolls
- Ability to deal with public authorities such as TRA, Immigration Office, Registrars Office and other Tanzanian Institutions as well as with Embassies
- Strong organizational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to details
- Flexibility to work in challenging environment
- Motivated team worker
