Volunteer
An international NGO with the headquarters based in Nairobi is urgently looking for a part – time, professional volunteer to pioneer the production of a magazine. The volunteer will be expected to work at least 5 hours per week for 3 months with a possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum two years related experience or a degree/diploma holder with an open mind and passion for children preferred. A diploma or degree in journalism will be an added advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to changing deadlines and priorities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative.
• Ability to work for and with a diverse range of managers and team members.

Position is conveniently located in Nairobi
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of the overall magazine design and research
- Act as the project assistant for the magazine (schedule, subscriptions, etc);
- Contribute in editing and writing articles for publication in the magazine
- Participate in the implementation of ANPPCAN Regional’s communication, information and advocacy system within the fundraising department
- Provide website content in regard to the magazine
- Coordinate the planning, design, development and production of relevant IEC materials for running projects, and the organization’s publications.
- Assist in production of documentaries, films, radio programs and facilitate promotional, publicity, visibility and informational needs of the organization.
- Be responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of quality of audio/video/print and virtual materials.
- Lead the Editorial board in the planning, design, development and production of materials, traffic and content for the ANPPCAN Regional Magazine and newsletter
- Give objective advice and guidance on issues related to Public Relations in consultation with fundraising department
- Be involved in activities to promote and publicize institutional projects both locally and on a wider scale
