1.       Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office, the incumbent will perform the following duties:-

a)              Assists in negotiating agreements with implementing partners and ensrue that IP agreements are established in conformity with UNHCR’s financial rules and the latest Headquarters’ instructions

b)              Collects, registers and maintains information on project activities; Undertakes proper collection, monitoring and use of baselines, standards and indicators needed to measure and analyse programme performance, trends and target interventions. Translates project documents as required;

c)              Prepares plans for delivery of relief items according to operational needs; Planning for purchase of important commodities and services; Ensure timely customs clearance of consignments; manage storage of goods, efficient system for the release, distribution and redeployment of goods;

d)             Coordinates activities of implementing partners and/or contractors; coordinate transportation and distribution of relief items, maintain records on logistical activities and provide timely reports and updates both periodically and on request;

e)              Assist in keeping donor representatives briefed on developments and assist in the development of funding submissions, appeals and reports;


f)               Prepares status and progress reports, prepares tables and drafts routine correspondence, prepares background material for use in discussions and briefing sessions;


g)              Reviews the implementation and performance of Implementing Partners agreements through appropriate physical monitoring to evaluate the projects by reviewing work plans, progress reports, budget, financial reports and expenditures. This may include field visits for specific monitoring and evaluation issues;

h)             Assists in ensuring compliance in issuance of audit certificates for Implementing Partners;

i)               Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.


2.          Qualifications:

Academic:              Completion of secondary school education with post Secondary training in Business Administration, Trade, Economics or a related field. University degree in the related field is an asset.

Experience:              Minimum 6 years of previous job experience relevant to the function.

Skills:              Excellent computer skills especially MS Excell. Demonstrated negotiation skills.

              Language:              Fluency in English and working knowledge of the local language.
